@michaelammannel put together this list of 7 tips for your next grocery trip!

My personal favorite thing to do is save my scraps in the freezer! I save my meat bones, veg scraps, herb stalks, fish shells and more to make amazing homemade stocks, sauces, and soups.

Not all of these tips might work for you and that's okay! Take what works and leave the rest for someone else.

What would you add to this list?
This is one of the only things I will be black and This is one of the only things I will be black and white on. We need to be talking about the state of the world in our sessions, whether we *think* they are affecting our clients or not (they are).

I don't care if your client is not Palestinian, Israeli, Jewish, Arab, Muslim, Middle Eastern, Sudanese, Congolese... I don't care what "side" you are on... it is our responsibility to be having these conversations without bias.

When we speak about bodies being political, food being political, it includes this. Educate yourself. Have the conversations with every client in every session.

Learn more about her:

Hello! My name is Michaela Mannel and I'm a new mentee of Brianna from The Celestial Life. I am on track to become a registered dietitian, as I am completing the HNFE (Health, Nutrition, Food and Exercise) major here at Virginia Tech. Right now I am a junior, and while getting excited for my career as an RD, I am also enjoying spending time with my friends here at school. I am also part of Alpha Phi Omega, a gender inclusive service fraternity here on campus that volunteers for people in need in Blacksburg and the surrounding areas. I have been so excited to begin working with Brianna because I admire her dedication to eating disorder recovery especially for BIPOC. Being a registered dietitian requires knowledge about nutrition and physical health, and Brianna uses this knowledge in tandem with her passion for recovery and knowledge about various relationships with food. She helps those least likely to seek treatment, and this is why I chose her as my mentor. I am looking forward to learning from Brianna and contributing some posts and information that I hope you all find useful!

We are so excited to have Michaela on board and can't wait for what's to come! If there are any topics you want me and Michaela to talk about, let us know below!
My course is live and open for registration! I am My course is live and open for registration! I am so excited to have this as a resource not just for dietitians, but for all professionals.

If you are a healthcare provider working with people who have eating disorders, this is for you! I give you 12 hours of information about something that isn't spoken about a lot: the intersections of religion and race with eating disorders. If you want to treat your clients as a whole person and practice patient-centered care, you need to include race and religion in discussion in your sessions.

The course is approved for 5 CDR CEUs (pending more) including ethics and comes with 5 live sessions with me along with the 12 hour course!

Click the link in my bio to register! Course starts September 27th. For my Americans, the prices are Canadian so you get an extra special surprise of a discount!

Please let me know if you have any questions and please share!
